Social & Environmental Justice

Emmanuel Lutheran Church believes that our Vision of a Christ-centered world impels us to reach out and serve the people of the MidTown neighborhood and the greater Rockford area. Leaders in the Emmanuel family have a long history of Social Justice.

Pictured above are Emmanuel members participating in the May 10, 2016, "Break Free Midwest" protest in Whiting, Indiana, concerned with keeping fossil fuels in the ground.

Green Committee

As a Lutherans Restoring Creation congregation and empowered by Spirit we respond with passion toward ecological healing and justice through Worship, Education, Building and Grounds, Stewardship at Home and Work, and Public Ministry.
